The Deputy Speaker, for instance, found himself embroiled in a battle to salvage his image and shield his family from the damaging effects of social media blackmailers who falsely implicated him in an affair with a city socialite.
Unfortunately, he is not alone, as many other prominent figures have also been targeted in similar schemes, jeopardizing not only their personal lives but also their political ambitions.
It is suspected that there are ulterior motives behind these attacks, with some individuals possibly seeking to disrupt the political landscape by using these officials as pawns in de-campaigning strategies.
Some of the victims of this blackmail include Dickson C Kateshumbwa, Hon. Frank Odome Lorika, Hon. Rwakwajara Arinaitwe, Hon. Robert Mwesigwa Rukaari, Hon. Muhammad Nsereko, and Hon. Kamuntu Moses.
These individuals, along with numerous others, are prime targets for these extortionists. It is not unlikely that their names will soon be plastered across social media platforms with false and controversial stories.
